The Mission of PGR
Is to build a community to enrich the social-emotional lives of profoundly gifted children, teens, and their families.
Throughout the year, these families and the professionals who serve them engage with one another, providing learning opportunities and fostering lasting friendships among true peers. This engagement culminates in our annual gathering each summer. Read the testimonials.
A Volunteer Organization
From those who organize our events, to those who manage registration and finances, from the board to the photographers, those who design the overall programs or who present specific workshops, everyone volunteers and everyone benefits. Learn more about volunteering. PGR is only as great as the contributions are from each of us--it is truly a self-organized gathering.
Member Gatherings
We conduct an annual gathering, our "annual family reunion" typically over the 4th of July weekend every year, and members organize other gatherings in different parts of the country from time to time. Learn more about upcoming events, and review information about the annual retreat (members only).
Donations & Scholarships
PGR gladly accepts donations for either the general operating fund, or for the Betty Maxwell Scholarship fund to help reduce the costs of attendance. Learn more about donations and scholarships.
Committees, Finances, Board Minutes
As a membership of families for families, we organize ourselves through a variety of committees, and we operate in a transparent manner. Learn more about the committees, our finances, and read the board minutes, here (members only).
Communication & Contacts
For ongoing communication and support, we organize this web site, a number of listservs (members only), a few forums in the parent, teen, tween, and other sections of the web site (open only to those member types), and use the membership directory (members only) for contact information and to connect names with faces.
How to Join
We would be pleased to review your application. You can also email us and we'll be happy to respond to your questions first.
